Stewardship Council

The Stewardship Council oversees the aspects of stewardship of treasure that result in regular and long-term gifts that make possible the operations and ministries of Christ the King Cathedral.

The Stewardship Council will develop a strong vision from the parish and school caretakers and stewards.

The committees on the Stewardship Council are:

Annual Campaign

Directs the annual ACOM within the parish as well as an annual stewardship campaign for ongoing support of the cathedral. Examples of specific tasks included are correspondence, phonathon, tracking pledges to actual payments, pledge follow up calls, bulletin announcements, recognition and events.

Capital Campaign (PrAY IT OFF)

Manages the efforts to raise specific amounts for the acquisition of capital assets and debt retirement. Examples of tasks included are feasibility studies, correspondence, development of lists of projects, donor visits, tours, donor recognition opportunities and events.

Christ the King Cathedral School Development

Oversees all aspects of fundraising for annual school operations, Adopt-a-Student program and Christ the King Cathedral School Foundation. The campaign for the school also targets school alumni and community donors at large.

Supports the parish mission by facilitating the efficient and effective flow of communication among internal councils, commissions, committees, ministries and parishioners, as well as external publications.

Coordinates with the diocesan development office to prepare and submit grant applications for the parish and the school.

Major Gifts & Planned Giving

This committee of the Stewardship Council offers educational opportunities and resources to make parishioners aware of their options for making a legacy gift to the parish or school, such as estate bequests, gifts of cash, investment portfolios, life insurance, or other assets. The committee conducts the Third Thursday Lunch and Learn and also works to promote major gifts through the annual campaign, year-end giving solicitation, seminar follow up, donor calls, tours of facilities, donor recognition and events.

Memorials & Honorarium

Coordinates the program for donations in the memory of deceased parishioners. Coordinates the annual All Souls Day liturgy, mailings, newsletter information and names, endowed memorials, thank you and acknowledgements.

Special Events

Coordinates friend raising events, such as Veterans Day and Valentines Dances, Sweets with Santa and Parish Potlucks.

Stewardship Education

Promotes sacrificial giving and true stewardship as a life style. Examples of specific tasks included are the development of a stewardship curriculum in the faith formation programs, annual renewal of time, talent and treasure, lay witness talks and children’s envelopes.

Welcoming and Belonging

Coordinates the programs to build parish membership and involvement by focusing on personal contact, not just mailings.
