Sixth grade youth was kicked off on Sunday October 4th. Last week the teens explored what causes them stress and anxiety in their everyday lives. When we get caught up in the "busyness" of life we tend to put God on the back burner. Scripture tells us however "Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thankgiving, make your requets known to God. Then the peace of God surpasses all undertanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." Phil 4:6-7. Teens reflected on their daily schedules and their struggles they encounter on a daily basis, so that they could find time for prayer, relaxation, and to be thankful for the opportunities that God provided them.
Sixth Grade Zoom Meeting will be October 11, 2020 at 6:30. Zoom information will be sent out via the MyParish App.
Confirmation is a two year program where we will explore God's calling to be who we were created to be. The Pre-Confirmation curriculum is Chosen, we were chosen by God to spread his Word. The Confirmation curriculum is Purpose, God gave each of us a unique purpose. Access weekly youth night lessons, videos, resources, discussion boards and assignments to interact with your fellow youth group members.
Parent Zoom Meetings were a success. It was great getting the opportunity to meet you and your teen as we enter this journey towards Confirmation together.
During the Zoom meeting we discussed what parents want out of their teens life and teens told parents what they want out of their life. Parents and teens shared similar answers of education, love, spiritual relationship with God, and HAPPINESS. We come to realize that we are happiest when we are being who God has called us to be and we follow our vocation.
In order for us to become fully who God created us to be we have to build a relationship with God and get to know him. This is why this year we will get the opportunity to build upon our formation with projects, service hours, and formation events. So in return we can become a better, stronger, and more loving Catholic Christian.
